#What value should I insure my golf equipment for?
In the event of a claim, you will only be able to claim for the amount that you declare is the replacement value of your equipment. If you undervalue your equipment, you may find you have to meet the rest of the cost of replacing items yourself.
We suggest you base the replacement value on:
- The new, undiscounted cost (including VAT) from a store or supplier
- A valuation from a competent and reputable source which is not older than 12 months prior to the start of the insurance
#Is there an excess on this policy?
That depends on the type of claim.
For theft and accidental damage claims there is no excess but there is a minimum claim amount of £100.
For public liability claims there is an excess of £500 for damage you cause to third party property, but this excess does not apply if you injure somebody.
#Do you only cover UK residents?
You must be a resident of, and domiciled in, the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Northern Ireland to be eligible for golf insurance cover. We are unable to insure residents of the Republic of Ireland.

#What are the age restrictions?
The minimum age for a golf insurance policyholder is 16.
Membership fees are not covered if you are over 75 years old.
Permanent Total Disablement benefit is not covered if you are over 65 years old.
#What information do you need to start the cover?
We will need your name, contact details, date of birth and payment details – it couldn’t be simpler.
#What is the maximum value you can insure?
You can insure a total value up to £7,000 through this website.
#Are there any items you cannot cover?
Consumable items under £100 in total, individual items over £7,000 or golf carts.
#Do I need any specific security on my vehicle or where I keep my golf equipment?
No specific locks or security are required, but you will need to ensure that when the item is unattended it is kept in a locked room, cupboard or locked luggage compartment. For more details please read the Policy Wording document.
Definition of Unattended: For the purposes of defining ‘unattended’ we say that unattended items are only covered when they are:
- Being used or held by you or a responsible adult
- Stored at the insured locations
Definition of locked luggage compartment: this is a locked car boot or enclosed storage area of a saloon, estate or hatchback vehicle. If the vehicle does not have an enclosed boot compartment, the golf equipment needs to be completely hidden from view.
#Am I covered if I lend or hire my golf equipment to another person?
If you lend your insured items to a responsible adult, then yes, you are covered providing the person you are lending the equipment to, doesn’t steal it.
You are not covered if you hire your equipment.
#Am I covered to take my golf equipment abroad?
Yes, anywhere in the world up to a maximum of 180 days in the policy year.
#Can I add or make changes to the policy at any time?
You can make changes to your golf insurance policy by logging in as an existing customer or by calling us.
Note that additions will incur additional costs. Additional premiums are charged on a pro rata basis from the date of change.
No refunds are payable for cancellation, in part or whole, for any reason outside of 14 days from the commencement date other than for amendments allowed.
